NDIS Personal Care Support in Sydney — 2026
Personal care is the daily support that makes independent living possible for people with disability. It’s also among the most sensitive and intimate forms of support — requiring workers who are experienced, respectful, and reliable.
SADC Disability Services provides NDIS personal care support across Greater Sydney, with a particular focus on Western Sydney communities including Parramatta, Liverpool, Fairfield, Campbelltown, and Canterbury-Bankstown.
What Is NDIS Personal Care Support?
Personal care support is funded under Assistance with Daily Life in your NDIS Core Supports budget. It includes:
Morning and Evening Routines
- Showering, bathing, washing
- Dressing and undressing
- Grooming (hair, nails, shaving)
- Oral hygiene
- Skincare and topical treatment application (non-clinical)
Continence Support
- Toileting assistance
- Continence product management
- Catheter care (non-clinical)
Meal Support
- Meal preparation for participants who cannot cook independently
- Feeding assistance for participants with swallowing or physical limitations
- Mealtime positioning support
Medication Prompting
- Reminding participants when medications are due
- Preparing dosette boxes
- Recording medication taken
(Clinical medication administration requires a nurse — SADC workers provide non-clinical prompting only)
Transfer and Mobility
- Hoist transfers (with proper training and equipment)
- Manual handling (seated transfers, repositioning)
- Assistance with mobility aids
The SADC Difference: Consistent, Matched Workers
The most common complaint about personal care support is inconsistency — a different worker every time, staff who don’t know your routine, people who need to be retrained every shift.
SADC addresses this directly:
- You have a regular team — typically 2–3 workers who cover your roster
- Backup workers are properly briefed — not just handed your address
- Workers are matched to your needs and preferences — communication style, cultural background, gender preference (where possible)
- Handover processes — any change in your routine or health status is communicated between workers
Cultural Sensitivity in Personal Care
Western Sydney’s communities are diverse. Personal care intersects with cultural and religious practices around modesty, same-gender care requirements, dietary needs at mealtimes, and prayer times.
SADC employs support workers from Arabic, Vietnamese, Indian, Pacific Islander, and other cultural backgrounds. We match workers to participants where cultural fit matters — because for personal care, it does.
2026 Pricing for Personal Care
Under the 2025–26 NDIS Pricing Arrangements, personal care (Assistance with Daily Life) is billed at:
- Standard weekday rate (standard hours: approximately 6 AM–8 PM weekdays)
- Evening loading (after 8 PM weekdays)
- Saturday loading
- Sunday loading (higher)
- Public holiday loading (highest)
If your routine requires early morning, late evening, or weekend personal care, factor these higher rates into your plan budget. SADC charges at or below NDIS price limits at all times.
Getting Personal Care Support in Your Plan
At your planning meeting:

- Specify the frequency (daily, twice daily) and approximate time needed
- Request “Assistance with Daily Life” under Core Supports with specific hours
