NDIS Home Care Services in Sydney — 2026 Guide
Home care under the NDIS means support workers come to your home to help with the things that disability makes difficult — whether that’s personal care, household tasks, meal preparation, or simply getting your day started.
SADC Disability Services provides NDIS home care services across Greater Sydney, including Parramatta, Liverpool, Fairfield, Canterbury-Bankstown, and Campbelltown. We are a registered NDIS provider, meaning all plan types (NDIA-managed, plan-managed, self-managed) can access our services.

2026 Updates: What’s Changed with NDIS Home Care
The 2025–26 NDIS Pricing Arrangements introduced updated hourly rates for in-home supports. Key changes affecting participants:
- Standard weekday rate (Assistance with Daily Life): Updated per the July 2025 NDIS price update
- Weekend and public holiday loadings apply — support workers receive higher rates on Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, which flows through to your plan usage
- Active Overnight Support and Sleepover Support are separately funded at distinct rates
- The NDIS continues to distinguish between Assistance with Daily Life (personal and domestic care) and Assistance with Social, Economic and Community Participation — ensure your plan correctly allocates across both if needed

How to Get Home Care Funded in Your NDIS Plan
- Raise it at your planning meeting — Tell your NDIA planner or LAC that you need in-home support. Bring evidence from your allied health team about your functional limitations.
- Be specific about your needs — How many days per week? Morning routine only, or evening as well? What domestic tasks? The more specific, the better your funding allocation.
- Request the right support categories — Ensure your plan includes “Assistance with Daily Life” under Core Supports.
- Choose a provider — Once your plan is approved, sign a service agreement with SADC. Services begin once the agreement is in place.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I keep my current home care worker if I switch to SADC? A: This depends on whether your worker is employed by SADC or is independent. Call us to discuss your situation.
Q: Is NDIS home care the same as aged care home care packages? A: No. NDIS home care is for people under 65 with disability. Aged care home care packages are funded through the Department of Health for people 65+. If you’re approaching 65 and on the NDIS, speak with your coordinator about transition planning.
Q: How many hours of home care can I get? A: This depends on your NDIS plan and assessed support needs. Plans vary widely — from a few hours per week for low-intensity support to daily multi-hour support for high needs.
Q: Can my spouse or family member be my NDIS home care worker? A: In limited circumstances, family members can be paid as support workers. Self-managed participants have more flexibility here. Speak with your NDIS planner or LAC about what’s allowed in your situation.
